ONGOING Projects

Currently, GO is implementing a small project on vertical leafy vegetable gardening to improve the socio-economic condition of five women in Arada sub-city woreda 4, with a fund raised from members of the organization. The project was commenced with launching workshop involving stakeholders from various sectors and actual implementation started by providing training for selected women beneficiaries. The
project strategies are

1. Capacity building of beneficiaries: this component focuses on capacity building of the target group through different agric-hands-on skill training. Five selected women were trained on simple vertical vegetable gardening and compost preparation which promote environmental sanitation as well

2 . Induct small vegetable gardening business by identification, piloting and replication of innovative simple vertical vegetable growing technique. Beneficiaries were supported with necessary faming tools such as watering cans, plastic bags, shovel, meter, rake, hoe, rope and vegetable cutter and seedlings of lettuce, spinach and kale. 3. Promote Community Gardening this is done by allowing community representative to share experience from piloted project through visits and assisting them to adopt simple and affordable vegetable gardening techniques without utilizing much of cultivation land

COMPLETED


Since the establishment, GO has completed one project with a support from Civil Rights Defender(CRD) and Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRCo) from February 2020-May,2020. The project was on ‘Addressing gender-based violence in Yirgachefe woreda, Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Region Ethiopia’.  The project’s aimed to improve awareness of community members and enhance prevention of GBV in three Kebeles of Yirgachefe woreda.  Project activities included conducting rapid needs assessment in three selected kebeles of yirgachefe, awareness raising initiatives were carried out through radio programs and pamphlet distributions.
